This session is to develop bonding between mother and child, Garbh means womb and sanskar means teaching good things or instilling good values. So Garbh Sanskar means educating an unborn child. Garbh Sanskar is the practice of a few simple activities that contribute towards the social, physical , spiritual, and mental well-being of both mother and child.
These are the dynamic exercises that help remove the stiffness from the joints and remove the energy blockages. It helps in improving blood circulation and helps in preventing varicosities which is very common in pregnancy. Also, yog nidra known as yogic sleep is a guided meditation that helps bring calmness to the mind by reducing anxiety. This session can be attended by everyone including those with breech presentation, low lying placenta, high BP and so on.
Increasing weight of the belly creates a lot of upward pressure on the spine and back. Also there are a lot of negative emotions which keep on piling up in the pelvic region/hips. These asanas will help to distribute the weight along the line of gravity creating an energetic shift from the ground to the body.(females with low-lying placenta and breech presentation should avoid).
There are asanas we can not do easily during pregnancy so we use different props to make them easier and absorb the positive impact of the asana on the body and 'Garbha' (Womb). In these sessions, we use yoga props like a yoga belt, chair, brick, etc. Mothers with high BP during pregnancy will also benefit from these sessions.
In pregnancy, there is a general tendency for muscle loosening, which leads to aches and pains. This session is designed to develop strength in the back and pelvis regions, which are most easily impacted during pregnancy. Those women with a low-lying placenta and high BP should avoid doing asanas until advised.
