Introduction
The very nature of life is bliss itself; beneath the thoughts, the feelings, the opinions, the ideas, and the sensations of the body—all these things we generally refer to as "self"—is a place of pure bliss, a place of pure being. However, we are so often caught up in the movement of our mind that we miss the bliss, which is our true nature. Patanjali defined Yoga as "Chitta Vritti Nirodha," a practice to calm the fluctuations of our mind. By calming these mental fluctuations, the yogi opens himself or herself to experience union with the true self.
